    TW200 Rear Tire Test

Ok, I tested the MT43 rear TW tire setup on a set of switch backs where the ATV tire failed me with A+ success. But, duh, I did not take a helmet cam. Here is a video I made of the same section on a KLX300 a couple of years ago. So I'm posting this video to show the terrain.

The TW200 putted up with aplomb. Not a hitch except for that one rock that knocked off my chain. I have a plan for that.

I felt much safer and less exposed riding alone on the TW than the KLX.

    And without further aaahdooooe..........

Those Blind Indians build a killer trail, my kind of riding! Hard to really tell how steep and loose the switchbacks were but I would have thought the old atv tire would have made it o.k. Nice Teaser video anyways.

What strikes me is that after watching the vid I still don't know how hard the trail is. Between never having riden in the desert and not knowing the skill of the rider, it's like looking at a map with no scale. (To me). Nice clip though!

What size is the tire you have? I looked and the only size I can find is 4.00x18.

I can totally see where a narrow rear would be a benefit on these trails vs a wide atv type tire or even the stock tw34.

ATV tire did fine until about the 3rd or 4th switchback and started digging holes. I probably could have jumped off and helped a little but I have so much invested in the trail that I didn't want to tear up an already difficult spot. I just won't dig holes anymore.

How very true. Looks almost level, but level it ain't.

Just from the sound of the engine it seems like you could use a little bit lower gearing.
Long live the internal combustion engine!

I do usually run lower gearing but for the most part the KLX is being relegated to technical DualSport unless someone is with me other than SPOT. The knarliest solo stuff now goes to the TW. So you were spot on elime. I'm running a tooth too high in the front of the KLX. But hey, that's what clutches and Mobil 1 are for :0)

I'm a bit confused. You went from an atv tire on the back to a 4 inch tire on the back? Did you switch wheels? I think a pic would clear this up!

I get it! Same trail BUT different bike AND different tire. So. The TW with the ATV tire was better than this? Just askin'.
