    Custom dash and other stuff

I got my 93 tw for 50 dollars from a fella that was letting it just rot away under a porch. It has 10k miles on it so somebody loved it at some point. It needed a lot, new carb, cables, brakes froze, oil filter, no air filter, the list goes on and on. I just recently got it running nicely with a new engine head (the old one had the cam flat spotted and ruined rockers). Since the engine decided to run like a champ I decided put some more time into it. So far I have built a custom dash asymbly since the one that was on it was broken and missing. Its made of 1/8" thick aluminum plate. I drew the design in autocad printed a full size pattern and just traced it on the metal and center punched the holes, if anybody wants the pdf to print and cut yourself one out Ill be happy to send it to you. Drill cut and polish then just bolted the whole thing on the bike. Im really liking the look of it. Also threw on a round headlight my buddy gave me off a Harley build he was doing. Still need to build a cover for the electrics and recover the seat/ paint the fender and tank. (tank is a Clarke for some Honda I think, I found it in my parts collection) Its come pretty far for a 50 dollar piece of junk. Here are some pics.

Edit-photobucket is being a jerk, will upload more in a bit.

Looks like you have a replacement engine in the backround, just in case, and some axles to "trike" your TW.

That's a 22re with a cracked block from my Toyota 4runner. Engine ran great, its a shame the block cracked. Im keeping it around due to its good internals.

In automotive terms they call that a Restomod! Nice work and I do feel your pain as these bikes are not cheap to rescue even if we get them for next to nothing.

Yep, and that's where most of my time goes on the weekend. Going to try and get the seat fixed up, tank and fender painted this weekend. Then a new chain and maybe some pads etc. But im happy with the progress.

Yeah Andy! They say BOAT stands for Break Out Another Thousand and I sure have gone there. Not yet sure what BIKE stands for but they sure are close.

Keep up the nice work and keep us posted on your progress. We like Restomods just as much as we like Brats, Rats and the standard add on mods here.
