Newbie w/ 2009 TW in the Garage & Upgrades on the Way

I'm in SC Nebraska and bought me my first Tdub. Neat bikes!

Bought it for one reason... National Forrest in my area closed 275 miles of 300 miles trails to only highway/class A vehicles only. Add the 30+ miles of 50" ATV trails and an Enduro is the best machine to run ALL trails. More for hunting but going to be fun none the less!

Bought me a good barn find; only 296 miles on her. Needed a little TLC. Carb repair, battery, fuel, plug, etc.

Did order bunch of cool add-ons. Bigger pegs, Jimbo shield, kick start (must have in my opinion), cycleracks front & back, inline fuel filter, 1" handle bar risers... Just to name a few!

If anything like my other toys, this should be fun!

Anybody ever want to ride NEB Forrest, hit me up!

Forrest? In Nebraska? I've heard it all now.

Welcome aboard. This is a fun forum. If, you can handle a "jibe" now and then.

I know, right! I'm a transplant to NEB and it caught me off guard too. I actually hunt Montana annually too. The forests we have in NEB aren't even comparable to MT but it gives me an out only 2hrs away.

I know right? I found out recently there's pine plains in NJ. I thought it was all strip malls and Jersey Shore types.

That rack looks really cool. I read on another thread of someone making their own from an ATV rack is that it? I think I have an old ATV rack in my basement from my old '94 Sportsman 400, perhaps I can get crafty...

Yeah, I hate that. Only 25% is like everyone thinks. 75% Farms and forest. It's also the home of the US Equestrian Team. It's called the Garden State for a reason....

I have the Happy Trails rear and side racks. Happy Trails Tail Rack<br>Yamaha TW200 - Adventure-Proven Motorcycle Gear and Aluminum Panniers
The majority of the guys here use CycleRacks which is a great rack also. Just depends on what you want to use it for. CycleRack and Happy Trails racks are both made in Idaho and have a great warrantee. HT rack uses 8 bolts to hold it to the sub frame and frame but only IF you use the side racks in conjunction with the tail rack whereas the CR rack uses 4 bolts all by itself but 2 of those are to the main frame at the passenger footpegs. If you just use the HT tail rack it is only bolted to the sub frame which isn't ideal. You'll pay a lot more for the HT tail and side than you will for the CR. But again it's a personal preference and what you'll use it for. I weigh my rig down with hundreds of pounds of stuff so I needed something beefy as all get out.

But if you DO make something out of your old ATV rack for the T dub, you have to post a pictorial of the process, it's required lol.
