    New rider questions....

    Hello all,
I'm new to the forum and new to riding. I plan on picking up a tw200 in the next couple of weeks. Is there anything specific I should know or look for? I have no idea if I will buy new or used. Depends on what I find for what price? Are there any "must have" accessories....besides ATGATT?

I have been lurking for a week.or so...love the forum.and all the great info flying around it. I cannot wait to start riding and to join this world of t-dubs.

They made some electrical upgrades in 2001, so I would look for something younger than that. Otherwise early model, low miles. There are lots of deals here from time to time. Be patient and look here and on Craig's list for something locale.

Welcome to the forum by the way and where are you located?

Hello TwTaz; and welcome, perhaps a little more info, like your location, and riding experience. Test riding a bike w/ minimal riding skills could make for an interesting post ride conversation.

    I'm in central Fl.
I haven't ridden in....20 odd years. I did take the MSF course and will be taking it slow. The tw200 will my commuter bike. I only have to go few miles total and almost all of it is back roads. I love how tough and rugged the little bike is. Plus I'm short so the seat height is nice but the main thing is...it's just a cool little bike.

We have 140 acre hunting camp in Tennessee....the bike will be making that Thanksgiving trip with me. I may not get much hunting in...but will have a blast hitting the logging roads and trails in the area.

In all honesty the TW is just about the perfect little machine. It's great right off the rack. The accessories are more for fun and involvement. They can come with time...trust me you will know what you want after you ride a bit. Personally, I suggest you stay away from the stock rack, but I'm confident you will indeed want a rack at some point. Manracks makes a good product in that regard. But as I said...nothing is must have. It's just loads of fun in the stock configuration.
