Hey all, I am looking into purchasing a modular helmet since I think it will work out with my claustrophobia issue. Anyhow, Motorcycle Superstore has the one I want on sale. any color I want is $139.99, but if I purchase the gold, which I do not want, it's only $79.99. I like the idea of saving $60 and buying the ugly gold one and just painting it. Question is, how would I go about painting it, and what kind of paint would I need to purchase to paint it? I've never painted a helmet before, but I am seriously considering buying the helmet today if the possibility of painting it works out.

    Thanks all,

    Dan

As long as there is no chemical incompatability between the new paint, the old paint, and/or the helmet shell any helmet can be painted.

Thanks guys. Here's the idea I had for that butt-ugly gold helmet.

As you can see, I would paint it all white and then I would incorporate the tank logo on the helmet to match the bike. Just an idea though. I'm not really good at painting, but if I do go about getting the helmet and painting it, this is the idea I have for it.

Every helmet info sheet I ever read said, no paint, no stickers. I'd buy the right color to start with. Tom
