Looks like they recently came out with a gortex version. A few bucks more but may be worth it for those of us in jungle states. Everything Ive read seems gortex breaths betther than anything else.

I'd definitely spring for the Goretex next time.

I am interested in the Gaerne Balanced Oiled Boots. I know they provide better protection that a standard hiking boot/etc, but if I am doing off-road, is it enough? Granted, I am on a TW, so it's not like I'm flying through the backcountry or anything. Just curious. I'm trying to find something I can wear around off bike and on bike equally, but if I fall off, I have some level of protection against breaking my foot/ankle.

The Gaerne All Terrain seem to have slightly better protection and look very similar, but I am unsure of the comfort in comparison. The Rev'it Discovery Outdry are awesome, but definitely come with a heftier price, and again, not sure about just day to day wear if I ride into the office.

No offense, but if I need $350 dedicated motorcycle boots and $150 Kevlar trousers plus a jacket and a several hundred dollar helmet, I guess riding is out of my budget, and I ought to sell my $2500 bike cause I sure as heck cant afford to be safe riding it.
