    Sop right now.

It seems weekly we read a new posting that usually starts with" I bought a TW that sat for xx years and it won't start" .
What follows usually is a long list of advice suggesting everything from change the spark plugs to increase the tire pressure!
Eventually, someone will risk suggest cleaning the carb.
Can we all agree, clean the carb should come first?
    Please!!!

If only new folks knew about threads like GaryL's for resurrecting an old bike and other similar threads. It should say when folks are registering into the forum something like.."if your bike ain't running, start here first"

I honestly think that would stop about half the threads on this again and again subject that always comes up. Just sayin...

One thing this newbie learned is that using the search feature correctly is key. I've had the best results with the settings below:

I agree, and yet, it's fun getting to know new members through their trials with their new to them bikes. Just sayin'. I often log in and look at the newest member and see that they didn't post anything.

Maybe we need a short list of "Stickys" for basic/newbie/repetitive stuff?

I've been thinking of starting a thread called "The Handiest Tool in the Shop".
Hopefully a Sticky...are they hard to get here?

If it is a good enough thread, just ask a moderator to make it a sticky.
