    Hi gang.

I'm new but have been reading this forum for some time. Finally bought a TW yesterday. '87 with 2000 mi. Did I get hosed?

It seems like there are HUGE price point disparity between geographic areas. In searching for a TW that I could afford (wife allowance) I saw newer bikes at lower prices if they were in the East, but older bikes at alot higher prices here in my neck-o-the-woods. WA state.

Is there a reason for this or am I just seeing things?

I'm very excited to start do little things to make my new-to-me stock TW my own.

Also ride a Vstar 1100. HAve ridden all manner of MX bikes, KLR 650, Polaris and Yamaha ATV's of various shapes and sizes.

Damn, I bought my 2010 brand new for $3700 +taxes with a $800 extended warranty and $580 for a "freight/assembly". If I wasnt financing it I wouldve been able to get rid of the extra fee but I still think that extended warranty was too expensive. But, if I didnt buy it, something would probably go wrong on day 366 (thats my luck). Ended up around $5900 but I probably wouldve paid more I love my bike!

The '87 I bought for $1300. Seems steep for 24 yr. old. But like the man said. Stuff is expensive in the PNW

I paid $1500 for my 91 with 11K miles. It was a little rough but I like fixing things up. I'm in Central Washington. The important thing is, did you get what you wanted? If you're happy with your new toy then you got a good deal.

I got my '94 for $1500 with 1500 miles, super clean bike. I've seen newer TW's (2008's even)for as low as $2000 in this state. Markets vary around the country. For example, In Colorado you can't decent pontoon boat for a reasonable price, but head east (Kansas and further east) and you can find them.
