    Hi All,

Just posting to say hi as I am a new member and a very proud owner of my first bike a 1996 TW.

I am glad this site exists as I did quite a bit of studies on here of the t'dub prior to purchase- plus there is hardly any TW s in Australia to ask others opinions.

I am not able to post pics yet as i am not very computer savvy but you maybe able to see my bike in my profile pic.

Any how hope to learn and talk more soon with other members as I familiarize myself with the bike.

    Cheers,

    Adam

    Hi Kootenyamule,

I have a feeling I am going to be the same as you (loven it) I just got my licence too (well the first part) it is a bit of a process to get your riders licence in Australia.

I just found out some old mates from school all have bikes (not TWs) so looks like some adventures are afoot.

Where in the world is Nelson BC- is that Canada?

Welcome Adam. A TW is a way of life. I've had them before when I was younger and did not keep them. I wasn't ready. Now I am. They don't do everything well, but they get you down the highway to a spot to get off the highway and realy have fun better than most other bikes. One bike does that a TW. Let the adventure begin.

    Hi Owen,

Thank you for the reply, When i first discovered the TW it was the japan custom style (mine is similar) that attracted me to the bike- but I did not relise the adventure aspect of the TW lifestyle, I am really looking forward to grabbing my mates and heading bush, from the photos posted on this site they look pretty capable despite there size.

    Cheers,

    Adam

Yes, getting the licence is a process here in British Columbia, Canada as well. Written test, parking lot test, road test.

It is worth the trouble though!

    Have fun!

    Hi Adam,

    Bought mine in 2008.

    I had a 1984 Honda XR500R before the TW.

I miss the raw power of the XR, BUT I like the TW much more....

I also am a new TW-er. Picked up a used 2001 just this year. Have owned many street bikes and have many fond memories of CT 70's. The TW definitely is the best trail bike ever conceived and confirms that 4 wheelers are way over-rated. Glad to find this forum and look forward talking to you's.

I now have to learn how to use this forum and post pics.
