I am just getting used to my new TW200. I love it, but it feels like the front wheel/tire is pretty unstable in gravel. Am I imagining this, or has someone come up with a way to improve the handling under these conditions? Would a different tire help? Thanks for any advice.

Use the search function. It is your friend! There are tons of threads about front tires on here. I just ordered a new shinko sr244 that should help a bit.

Stock front tire sucks in gravel.

The search function on this forum kinda sucks, try "site:tw200forum.com front tire" in a google search (replace 'front tire' with whatever else you want to search on this, for future reference), it'll yield better results. Here's one such hit from that result: https://tw200forum.com/index.php?/top...ed-front-tire/

Yes the front stock tire is not so bueno, especially with 20 p.s.i in it. If you are riding off road I would highly suggest dropping air pressure at least until you are back on the road. I go to the trails then stop and drop my air pressure to 8-9 lbs front and rear. Now that is quite low and Im riding on wet, mossy, rooty, northwest Cascades so the low pressure really helps. When I am done with the trails I pump them back up to at least 15 p.s.i. for the road ride home. Now I would not suggest such low pressure unless you know your trails and what you will be rolling over. If you got sharp rocks mixed with low pressure and high speed then you are gonna get a flat. So until you get a new tire...air down for dirt!

I have been running stock tire pressures. I will try to air down. Thanks for all the suggestions.

What riding I've done in Nevada I wouldn't run under 12psi. Too many rocks.

There are a bazillion better tires for the front than the stock tire.
