A 3 year study has just concluded at York university in Toronto. Findings are that 1-2 hours of trail riding is equal to a round of golf or rock climbing for physical activity benefits. The whole study can be found at OFTR.ca. That's the Ontario Federation of Trail riders website. I like this!!!

    That's awesome!!

Dialogue tonight after work while sharing this info with the wife:

Me: "See Honey, it's good for me to go riding all the time!"

    Wife: (rolls eyes, shakes head...)

    Me: (sigh)

I kinda had that type of discussion with the hubby last year. His back was acting up and the therapist told him to take up bike riding for balance purposes. I told him that she probably did not mean a 650 Honda as a bike!

That must be why a lot of former pro mx riders are good golfers. They trained for walking 18 holes by riding two rounds of motocross. Tiger Woods is thinking of making the change to racing because it's easier on the body. Also mx babes are better looking than golf ones.

I'd be in great condition if I'd quit hitting things.

I can attest to the benefits of a weekly recreational ride. Last summer I made a strong effort to take a weekly off-road ride in my local hills after work one night a week. I think it worked, my wife said I was more relaxed and physically I felt better, much like going to the gym. This summer we bought a house and have spent much of the summer working on our new house and moving from the old but my weekly MC rides have been pushed aside, although now that things are settling-down at home I may start them up again.

That is really true for me.

After riding motorcycle again; about 2-3 years now, I am getting better balance on both Body and Mind.

Many things are getting optimistic as my body condition gets balanced.

Getting better concentration, and much better on jobs.

Also, after having some good riding, I could sleep well which may help my physical and mind work at the daytime.

I was teasing him and he bought the bike. After a summer of staying home while off he went, I received my TW as a Christmas present so we could go together. I just didn't know how to drive it! I do now!

I have now figured out that balancing the bike requires some ab work and you're tired after a day out.

Rock climb like a 1meter tall rock? I think i'll stick to Berki or VASA singletrack on my mtn bike or a hour swimming in the lake for exercise. I did know a guy who would do 24 hr motocross enduros and come to work with every joint bruised. That was a workout but I don't think it was good for his body...
