Its in the manual which you can download here. Starts on chapter 3, page 3.
Is there a place that provides diagrams/instructions for checking and adjusting the valves on the TW200?
If you can't find it, grind it
Well I typed up a manuscript on it while 3 replies were made.
I adjusted the valves to spec and they are definatly quite now at an idle but as the engine warms up I hear a pretty loud ticking sound. Before the motor was noisy at an idle and quite above an idle. Has anybody had the same results? Any ideas?
I think your TW is totally fubared. Best to sign the title and ship it and the bike to me for safe proper disposal before you shoot your eye out.
As with most air-cooled Japanese SOHC motorcycles built with 1960s technologies, TWs are noisy little things. If you are confident the valves are correct, ride and don't worry.
It's normal for a good tap. The only other common thing I'd think to check is cam chain tension.
No thanks Qwerty, I will keep my ticking bike. Assquatch, I will check the cam chain tension. Thanks for all the advice and help guys. I am having a blast customizing and riding this bike!
All that reflection hurts my eyes. Can't you go blast through a mudhole or three?
