If I go with a larger gas tank I'd like to use a larger metal tank. I really like using a magnetic tank bag.

Awhile back I bought a Kolpin Fuel Pack Jr. without any mounting brackets. I like the ability to use it on both my TW & my Versys when I need more range.

On my TW I'm not sure which way to mount it. I have both the front & rear CycleRacks.com racks so I have several possible mounting spots but I'm not sure which way I want to go. When I have used it I've lashed it flat on top of my OGIO tailpack using a buggie net. This works okay but I think I'd like a more secure mount.

I don't expect to carry it full of fuel most of the time, only when I know I'll be outback for extended distances.

I have found 2 different Kolpin mounting options: 1) Pack Mount ~$17 and 2) Bracket Mount ~$40... Trying to decide which way to go...

    Where have you mounted yours?

    What mount did you use?

Can these mounts be modified to hold two fuel packs?

I decided to use the "Bracket Mount," on my TW attached it to the rear of the CycleRacks rack. I had to modify the mount slightly, the U-bolts only fit on one cross member of the rear rack which allowed the fuel pack to rotate under jarring forces on gravel & dirt. I added a "J-bolt" which hooked to the upward bend of the rear rack. This elimiated the rotation & the fuel pack stays put.
