I'm on 8 and doing mine today. It needs adjusting now almost once a week. It is toast.

Shoulda swapped out the chain when the bike was new. That way you woulda not be replacing sprockets for another 20,000 miles. The cost of a ringed chain is much lower than the gaskets, seals, oil, sprockets, lockwashers, and chain lube the stock chain, its replacement, its replacement, its replacement, and its replacement requires.

Couldn't learning from others experiences be called an education?

Nope. Education is what's left after forgetting everything learned in school.

Your sprockets have already started wearing. If you have less than 500 on the sprockets you could get away with reusing them. Might as well get your 5000 miles out of the stocker and then replace everything together.
