    New old guy

Hi everyone, I've been following this forum for years and finally decided to obtain a TW. Yay!

I am 60 years young and like some of you guys started on a Honda Trail 70 at 14. I've owned a few dirt bikes and street bikes, largest being a Kaw 900. I haven't ridden in 25 years and figure this little bike will be a perfect bike to reacquaint me to two wheels. I'll use it for trips around town and for exploring nearby areas off road, prob 60/40 street/trails. I'm 6'3", 240 lbs and figure pro taper with risers and larger pegs.

I must say the very existence of this forum helped me decide what to buy. I figure I can find all I need to keep it running here.

I narrowed down my choice to TW and Wr250r. I expect the TW will keep my riding humble whereas the WR would lure me to ride more aggressively. I'm ready to take the slow road so there it is. I am searching for a used bike because dropping a new bike hurts too much. I haven't ruled out a new one, will wait and see how my search for a used one goes. I don't have a garage or place to work on it, and my tools are at my ex house / garage with my ex wife. So it will be a challenge to find a place to wrench on it. Anyway that's my story. I can't wait to get back on two wheels!!

    Howsbentley

Edit- I live in Memphis TN, considering a move to middle TN but Memphis is home now.

WELCOME and congratulations on getting back in the saddle!
Don't feel bad about not having a garage or place to wrench. I do most of my work on the patio beside the house - or borrow someone else's garage LOL . The TW doesn't seem to mind.

    Welcome.
Good luck on your search. They're out there but make sure you have cash on hand because they sell fast.

I just got my TW last week and I'm turning 66 next month and the same size you are. Doing mods on it now for fit and make it my own.
