Hi, my names Bobby and I am stationed at Edwards AFB in Southern California. I have been riding dirt bikes for a few years now and decided to sell my 91 cr250r and get into a tdub. So glad I did! This bike is amazing! I have 100 miles on it already and can't get enough. Couple questions, first are there many of you from California? I am looking to get to know some locals so we can plan weekend trips all around the area. Second question, are these bikes indestructible or what!? I know I should baby her for awhile but I assume the break in should be like how you ride it daily. I commute 5 miles to work and 5 miles back daily so its not too hard. But when I wake up in the morning I have lots of desert I hit. Tons of trails around here. I am also looking for a large storage box for the back that I can throw all my camping gear into, any ideas? Well I am anxious to hear from you all.

Plenty of us. Several from your immediate area, more or less. 6 or so from the Victor valley and several from the Antelope Valley as well.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Molle 2 main pack is good cheap storage.

Save the other half of yourselves and your lives for pleasure and adventure. It is not enough to fight for the land; it is even more important to enjoy it. While you can. While it’s still here. So get out there and hunt and fish and mess around with your friends, ramble out yonder and explore the forests, climb the mountains, bag the peaks, run the rivers, breathe deep of that yet sweet and lucid air, sit quietly for a while and contemplate the precious stillness, the lovely, mysterious, and awesome space. Enjoy yourselves, keep your brain in your head and your head firmly attached to the body, the body active and alive, and I promise you this much; I promise you this one sweet victory over our enemies, over those desk-bound men and women with their hearts in a safe deposit box, and their eyes hypnotized by desk calculators. I promise you this; You will outlive the bastards.”

    Hey Bobby,

Welcome into the forum. I'm retired Navy myself (3.5 yrs ago). I'm in the Victorville area. I go to Lancaster periodically as both me and the Mrs. have family there. Hooking up for a ride sometime sounds great. Talk to you soon.

Glad to hear there are a few local riders! I will definately want to do some group rides whenever possible. I have done the rubbermaid action packer mod and so far it seems to be working well. Next I am looking for a gas can mod to hold an addition 1.5-2.5 gallons of fuel for longer trips. Is there a section in the forum for get togethers and rides? That would be awesome to get some local people to chime in and see what their thoughts are for this summer.

Hope to put a group ride together up at our place in Independence (40 miles south of Bishop). Not sure if it will happen this year as I'm still remodeling up there. If I have a pre-ride ride I'll let you know.

Independence is a good little ride from edwards afb. That would be a great warm up ride thru red rock canyon. would like to hit the rubicon this summer and camp out at one of the lakes they have in the trail.

Howdy from the Boont region! I’m Nor cal, and am looking forward to ride events once I get my act together with a trailer, etc. TW’s are not indestructible, but damn tough! Low & slow is fun, & I am a little envious that you have desert to ride, you are going to luv that bike for that! m.
