    I've got an 89 Tdub with 23k on it right now. One lever is bent, the other is missing the tip, and I'm in an ongoing war with broken/stripped bolts, but the thing runs great. Problem is, it's looking like I won't get any proof that I own the bike and thus can't title/register it. If this is the case I have no choice but to get rid of it and search anew.



    The TW200 is the bike I wanted, and by george it's the bike I'll have. Just maybe not this one.



    My dilemma is whether I should sell as-is or part it out. I'd say in parts I could make a lot more, but there's a lot of shipping for small odds and ends and if I don't make a marginal difference over just selling it, it won't be worth the time.



    Anyhow, what would you do?

    Given the title situation, I would 'guess' you would be better parting it out. Remember, you have now posted your situation so it will be good to continue to advise the 'buyer' of any part, that is has XXX amount of miles on it and the reason you are parting out. Just my opinion. Gerry

    Without the title you are gonna have to find someone who wants an off road only machine. Even then many states are starting to require registration on those, unless it is used on private property only.



    If you part it out FedEx, UPS, & USPS all have shipping calculators on-line. Figure out what it will cost to ship & add in a charge for your wrench & wrap time. Don't forget the cost of the box & stuff.

    Yeah I've got a few of the free USPS boxes already so packaging isn't a huge deal. I have a gajillion plastic bags for padding but I s'pose I could get ahold of some bubble wrap.



    I think, seeing as I'll just get a TW again, parting out would be a good learning experience to know the bike a bit better.

    maybe you should keep it until you get another one. you may find a good deal on one that has a title but lacks in the mechanical department. spare parts bike could be a blessing in disquise.

    Just my thoughts, here in MD you can put a mechanic lean on the bike.Wait so long,(do what the state asks and do it) and its yours and a new title is sent to you. Me and my brothers did it on a car, but it was a while back,(70's) Check with MVA about that before you part it out,Some Dreams come true. Again My thoughts.

    Just my .02, but if buying a new or newer TW, I would swap over the kick starter and related parts to the newer bike. If not, I’ve got first dibbs.
