I was thinking of riding with my blitz 1 gallon can on my rear rack to get more miles out of the ride. Do any of you here do this?

I have carried aluminum fuel bottles both upfront and in tool tubes in the rear. Have also carried a Kolpin fuel tank mounted on my rear Pelican case. Lot's of options for carrying extra fuel.

I have the same set up. I attach the fuel pack when I expect I'll need additional mileage range. Kolpin is a quality product.

So you mounted the bracket directly to the rear rack bolts? Did you have to remove the rubber rack pad? 225 miles is good range though.

To clarify... my fuel pack bracket is bolted vertically to my CycleRack.com rear rack, so that the fuel pack sits upright when attached. The bracket is left on permanently, the fuel pack only when needed. I find that a vertical mount is less likely to leak fuel when on rugged terrain.

I carry 2, 5 liter steel, German, jerry cans.

That's about 2.6 gallons, to give me an additional 200 miles of range.
