Hello from NM.
I picked up this 1989 TW a couple of months ago and have slowly been going through it to make it a reliable cruiser.
It looked like it had been drug from a swamp when I got it. Surface rust all over including the plastics but it did start and idle.
So far it has needed a set of forks from ebay, a new front brake cable, a voltage regulator, a used front tire and a bit of carb tuning. It now purrs and is a complete hoot to ride.

1st John 1:9
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Welcome from NE Oregon. I'm glad you're fixing up an older TW instead of letting it die and rust away. Well done.
Welcome to a new member hailing from the Land of Enchantment.
We’ll let you post a few more times before teasing you about installing a used stock front tire. Perhaps you’ve read us refer to the front TrailWing tire as a “DeathWing” due to it’s poor handling compared to some other tires.
Keep doing whatever it takes, time and budget permitting, to finish the resurrection of that fine ‘89
I don't think that's a 'Wing on the front, Fred. Looks more gnarly, to me.
Anyway, big welcome to the new member. And I just gotta say: rusted plastic?!! Now that's an accomplishment!

Oh, good news correcting me on the tire. The welcome remains valid though. Bye for now, time to go see if I need to scrape rust off my plastic too.
Welcome from the Rio Abajo of New Mexico, where the sun shines more in the winter. The TW I ride came from Espanola way and is a 2002.

Welcome from the middle of the world. You will love this forum almost as much as you love your TW.

Welcome from the Sacramentos near Cloudcroft. I kept seeing a TW in front of our local auto parts store and always ignored it, till I got the bug for one. Alas, some smart mountain maven beat me to it so I bought a new one.
I have four old Yams in the garage to go with the new TW, keeping relics running is always a challenge, but fun. Have a blast.
