    Howdy All,

I bought my wife a 1988 Smurf edition of the TW200 back in 2004, she rode it a few times and then it sat neglected in the garage for years. Here's a shot of Donna and her T-Dub, my DRZ in the back ground.

I don't know why but about a month ago I drug the old T-Dub out from behind one of the other bikes that has also been sitting for a long time and tried to fire it up, yeah right. The carb was completely filled with hardened varnish and gooy slime from gas gone bad years ago. I had a heck of a time getting the carb out and even more fun getting it back in place but it now runs and runs quite well. As luck would have it a good friend of mine had a family member who still lives in eastern Europe fall on very hard times and he needed cash right now to help out. So many of his toys went up for sale one of them a 2010 T-Dub that he has just bought in March of 2012, when I bought the bike it only had 39.7 miles on it, I paid $2,000.00 for it.

So now that I have two of these critters perhaps Donna will want to go riding with me every now and then, like we did in the past.

I am one of those fools who wastes his money on motorcycles, I am down to 8 maybe 7 of the darn things I lose count from time to time. I have ordered the kick starter kit and will when I get it make and post to my photo web page a detailed step by step series of photos with commentary describing the process. I did this when I installed the kick starter on my DRZ400S, that gallery is referenced on many web sites to include ADV-Rider and Thumper Talk, it gets MANY views and comments even after all these years, I am hoping the one I do for the TW200 will be as well received. I have enjoyed reading and learning from this list and hope to contribute in the future.

    Hi Mr. Cob,

Welcome, from one old fart to another.

Like you, I have a rotating assortment of 7-10 bikes at any given time. My current mix includes a couple of TW's and a DRZ400SM. Within the past few months I put kickers on both a TW and the DRZ. It was probably your guide that I followed for the DRZ, so I'd like to thank you for your efforts putting that together - much clearer and easier than trying to follow the instructions that came with the kit.

    Howdy Brain,

Thanks for your comment on the DRZ kicker install. Maybe you can help me out or direct me to someone who could, I would like to use as my avitor the same photo I use on all the other lists I am a member of but being a complete and total computer idiot I can't figure out how its done. I have the photo stored in one of the galleries on my photo web site, but for some reason when I paste that url into the box on the profile page I get a pink error message saying that that type of photo can't be used. As I said, I am clueless when it comes to this type of thing.

Sorry Cob, but you are asking the wrong guy. I was able to get an avatar loaded, but as I remember it was more by accident than by skill. I'll have to defer this question to someone who is more tech savvy than I am.

Welcome to the forum! The new TW looks like a heck of a deal. I remember when my used '07 had 2700 miles on it and felt "new" to me.

Should be good motivation to get you two out for some rides!

    Howdy B-dub,

I have been using "Smugmug" for years, in my mind the best photo hosting site there is, yes it costs a few bucks but it works and when folks look at yuour photos they are NOT bombarded by ads scrolling across the screen and all the other stuff that comes with so called free sites. Here's the actual photo, already sized to be an avitor.

and here's the url for that photo.

Any help given to get my rabid Wolf photo as my avitor on this list will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

    Howdy PalmStateCrawler,

It was one of those deals that if I didn't take advantage of it someone else would have, my friend needed the money fast and offered the bike to me for the same price the dealer he had bought it from offered to buy it back for, so I took the deal. Its sad to see folks especially friends find themselves in such situations but it happens.
