Hello T-dubbers, I've been lurking around the boards for a while and have decided that I want a TW as my school/work commuter. I've been scouring the depths of craigslist for an older, inexpensive TW to serve as the base for my initial build. I found one that I can pick up for around $250. Runs, not missing anything, just an '87 that someone has been using to tool around the ranch. My question is, should I wait a bit longer and spend more money to get a newer model or am I correct in assuming I need to snatch this bad boy up and join the club?

I'm no expert by any means but if it runs and you can pick it up for $250 how could it be wrong?

My thoughts exactly, I just wasn't sure if there was a recurring issue with the '86 that I should look for, etc.

    You're getting a running TW200 for 250 dollars?

Sheesh. Congrats on that find! You can trick that thing out to ridiculous proportions and still be less into it than those who have newer models, such as myself.
