I love the TW. It is about perfect for me just as it comes from the factory. A little carb adjustment, a set of brush guards and a rear rack and I'm set to go*.

So why do I keep looking on Craigslist for an old beater to play with and modify?

Is it just me or does anyone else want more than one TW? I want to keep the one I have pretty much as it is, but I think it would be fun to have one to try new stuff on.

*On edit: I forgot two things I haven't added to my TW that I think are must haves. An oil cooler and an upgraded skid plate/engine protector.

My '09 is way too clean and functional to screw with right now... however, I do have an 02 TTR225 that is rotting on the side of the house, and my brain is turning. hehehe... evil thoughts! I would love more power and another gear. I'll eventually fab a big motor in a TDub, its just a matter of time.

I found a second TW on CL for $450.

It needed work and parts and I have been very lucky finding the parts cheap!

    I just couldn't resist!

It would have made an excellent parts bike. It makes an even better second TW.
Long live the internal combustion engine!

That's exactly what I'm talking about. I don't want to do anything extreme to my current TW, but the urge to tinker still exists!

That's why I bought my TW, which had apparently been sitting under a tree in someone's yard for about 9 years. It was rough but complete and a perfect canvas for my restoration. I was able to make it exactly what I wanted down to every nut, bolt, and modification, color scheme and all.

You went beyond perfection on that project. Really nice work!
