    Helmets

What do you guys recommend regarding helmets? What looks good on a tw200?! Also what keeps you warm in the Winter, but cool in the summer?

I wear a ZOX high vis florescent dual sport helmet. I want to be seen. If it is cold, I wear a thin toque (non tassel type) underneath.
There are a few threads on helmets and reviews if you do a search.
If It is hot out and I am just trail riding, I will wear my down hill mountain bike hemet.

I've never found a helmet which will keep you cool and warm. I use a thin motorcycle balaclava in the winter under either my dual-sport helmet or my 3/4 open face. Keeps you surprisingly warm. I don't usually wear the balaclava under my full face D-S helmet cause I get too hot but almost always in cooler weather with my 3/4.

Hidden Content A ride in the woods helps me relax and release tension. The fact I'm dragging a body should be entirely irrelevant?

Something like the AGV Compact Flip Modular Motorcycle Helmet would fit the bill – flips up when you need the breeze – or will stay shut (in a crash) when you need it to

This model is now discontinued, so there are bargains to be had if you’re fast enough – around the 150 mark

The replacement more recent model can cost up to 500

Depends how much you value your head ……

I use an inexpensive Bell MX-1 on the T-Dub. It's light, and lets lots of air in. The anti-fog coating on the visor has a slight orange peel texture that makes vision a small bit less clear. Other than that, it's a fine helmet for the price. Not optimum for highway speed because the wind catches the dust shield. For T-Dub off road, it's just about perfect. You can lift the visor and wear dirtbike goggles for even more air flow. It costs about $100.00.

Whatever fits you best and is most comfortable. As long as it’s DOT approved. I use a modular Shoei Neotec. Expensive, but so is my head. I thought the foam would compress after wearing, but I’ll never make that mistake again. Even though it’s snug, it’s never too warm or cold or foggy or loud wind and I like the tinted drop down visor that you operate with your clutch hand on the fly. Cheers.

AFX-41 works for me. Down side is can no longer use helmet lock on bike, upside is tinted drop down visor and ease of connecting the straps.

This is the helmet I have. I'm very happy with it - has good vents and when the shield is closed cruising at 60+ mph your eyes are comfortable wide open - I keep it open while in the dirt and it stays up even with rough riding. I've had other helmets when the shield or worse on a modular the shield closes or partially closes when the going gets rough. This is a very good price for this helmet. I paid $160.

LuvNot did a good helmet review you may want to check out. I have a dirt bike style helmet (HJC) for the trails, blinding low setting sun or when I want the wind across my face. That helmet is really a little to big for me, bought from a dealer. I have a AFV full face helmet that fits me great for normal street riding, drop down sunglasses, quick connect latch and great ventilation in Texas.
