    Rear Wheel Spoke

Hi- Does anyone have an extra rear wheel spoke that they would be willing to sell? I am missing one and they only sell them in full sets. The spoke has been missing for years and I'm going to finally change the rear tire and figured I would fix the missing spoke at the same time.

Please let me know if you have an extra,

    Thanks,
    Chip.

    Hi Chip,

I may have the one you need, but will have to check when I get home this evening. There at least 3 and maybe 4 different spoke configurations used in the TW's rear wheel. Please check to see if your missing one is attached to the sprocket side of the hub or the brake drum side. That way I will see if I have one that is at least the correct length.

Kinda strange that you are missing a spoke. I’m wondering if the spoke hole on the rim side is rusted beyond it’s original size? One of the bikes I bought that had sat outside for years had a rusted rim. One Spoke that must have been on the bottom while it sat was rusted more then they others.

TW-Brian - Thanks I will check tonight to see what side of the rim the spoke is missing from. the TW is a 1987 if that matters.

TopPredator- Good point, I will check the mount hole tonight to see if there are any issues with the condition. I really wouldn't think it would be a rust issue considering the bike has been a garage queen its whole life.

    Hey Chip,

PM me with your address and I will send you 2 of the long ones (for the sprocket side) and 1 of the short ones (for the brake side). The long ones have slightly different angles on the head of the spoke. I don't know if this is by design or not, but either one should work fine if that is the length you need.

Ok, the Spoke wasn't missing altogether it was just broke off near the hub. Replacement Spoke is on its way thanks to TW-Brain.

He must have this secret stash of them. For years now when members inquire about one or two, or three...he always seems to magically make one appear...

    Good on ya bro
