Upload Photos Correctly or get the Dreaded Invalid Attachment

Administrators have kindly posted a thread How to upload images using Advance Post that many of us may not be aware of.
If you do not follow these guidelines we likely will not be able to enjoy those images you are trying to share.
Please take time to review and adopt new procedures.

    Good advice Fred.

Another suggestion would be to inform the poster that their pics are not showing up. I assume that since I can see my pictures, then everyone else should be able to see them too. For all I know, nobody else can see them.

For example, I will post a picture below of Fred working on his bike. If this picture does not show up properly for you, please contact Fred, not me!

I'll post this in every reply where I see a picture isn't showing so the poster(s) can see the link the admins made. I didn't even know they put up this thread until you posted it so I can see how people miss our helping picture reminders throughout the forum.

Does this one of Fred and Betty at Moab show up?...he lost a bit of hair since that earlier one that Brian posted

    Attachment 150258

    or this:

    resize 62a.jpg

Seems a lot depends on the size of photo/attachment...

Brian's Monkey wrenching shows up just fine, Hoot's does not...lucky me I guess.

The informative thread How to upload images using Advance Post is very useful, but easy to miss that is why I am sticking it in your face.
Thread may not address all the issues of photo posting, some still have trouble with posting from a cell phone or tablet. I use Tapatalk for my cell phone picture postings.

EDIT: Hoot's second attachment works, what was the difference between success and failure?

I’ve always selected the “advanced” option – at which point everything works as you would expect

Not entirely sure what the problem is, but never tried it on a phone or a tablet (for instance)

As for post two – this explains a lot …….

In this case simply photo size...size does matter Yes, the "Go Advanced' button works fine, but I have learned on this site and others, if I simply resize my photos{plenty of free tools out there on the Internet}, it saves space on the computer and makes things and photos easier to upload and share.

Standard size on I phones is ridiculous - size of a bed sheet - first thing you need to do is set a smaller pic size (by default) on some devices

If the original pic isn't huge, there's no need to re-size it ........
