    Furthest trip on Tdub...

Just wondering how far everyone’s taken their Tdub out....? I’m prepping mine for a possible long trip. What things helped on the journey? What would be your best advice?

My longest trip on the TW was from Enterprise, OR to Nampa, ID, but the back way through Hell's Canyon. It was just under 200 miles, I believe, and took about 5 hours. My best advice would be to plan a route that either has little traffic or better yet, a speed limit of 55 mph or less and no traffic. If it is going to be all pavement, consider running higher psi in your tires than you would on a dual sport ride.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

One member rode our country border to border and sea to shining sea; and more until her carpal tunnel made her stop.

A member couple flew to our shores; purchased used bikes from a another member; toured the U.S. and a little Canada (and maybe a little Mexico); then sold the bikes and flew back to whence they came.

Old w, I wish I had enough time for that kind of traveling. Right now I’ve got the rat-race blues and can dedicate a couple of nights at a time because of work...

Well; if you want a quickie - Two members did a Saddle Sore 1000 together on their TWs (1000 miles in 24 hrs). One was a member and the husband of the solo rider I mentioned above. The other is still a member.

i rode the west coast... 2000 miles. a larger tank was nice, as loaded down with panniers my mileage was less than unladen.

hwy 101/ 1 is pretty perfect for a tdub.

On the TW, only day trips.
Northern Las Vegas Valley to Overton (food & fuel) , via Lake Mead Northshore Drive (50 MPH) is about 160 miles, round trip...not taking Interstate 15.
The stock seat is a challenge.

Last summer rode from Haines AK down the Cassier, across to Banff then back east to WA. 2,600 miles, good time.

For 3 day trips I wouldn't over think it. Pack light, I like to bring a lithium jump start battery just in case.

That was a nice trip on a TW. Banff must have been awesome on a motorcycle.
Hidden Content A ride in the woods helps me relax and release tension. The fact I'm dragging a body should be entirely irrelevant?

Unfortunately the days I was in Banff the smoke from forest fires was so bad it stung eyes and throat and the views were very obscured and limited. Have to try it again sometime.
