    Forum atmosphere

I have posted on a few forums

The earliest I remember was a Miata forum, circa 2004: Only 146 posts..only kept it 4 months (posted as SV17Feb04). Decent forum, actually met one member.

Wrangler forum, circa 2013, after buying my second Wrangler, 2003 model. Only 247 posts (posted as TJerry), although I had it for two years

WildGuzzi (Moto Guzzi forum), circa 2017, some helpful, some egocentric. Only 310 posts, over the 7 months of ownership. Photo hosting appreciated.

CB1100 forum, since Nov 2017. Only 270 posts. OK forum, but no photo hosting. Active, although small membership (less than 4,000?)

XLforum (H-D Sportster), since April, 2012. 12,543 posts, but I am weaning myself off (not many serious electrical questions, lately). No photo hosting.

Now, getting to this forum, with 600+ posts, but only had a TW for less than two months and XT250 for less than two months, about 3,000 miles total for the dual sports: I continue to "hang out" looking for something to possibly be helpful, primarily because of the atmosphere on this forum - friendly, helpful, no posturing noted.

    Kudos to members and moderators.

Agreed. Differences of opinion are almost always respectful and civil. Amazed at how quick questions are answered. Mods are remarkably patient, but keep the flakes from ruining things, even though we probably only know a fraction of what they deal with. Cheers

I have only been here a short while myself and have been amazed. I am almost positive that, in part what makes this forum seem civil and mature is that the demographic of who is riding these particular motorcycles are just that much more mature and civil than the average of other places I have wandered in the past. I also represent that comment and this next remark too. Older guys just rule and there is not too many young dumb full of "u no what" kids here supporting their keyboard egos. Makes it a cool fun group. If you have not checked out the post about the demographic of who is riding these bikes, there's your answer. Even the off topic thread that turned political stayed pretty well in bounds as partisan as that can be. Amazing good bunch here, agreed.

    So quickly you guys forget.

Remember just before the election? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

I'm pretty sure Wera blocked most of the content and banned about half of the active members citing lack of civility.

Suppose this thread ain't here in the morning? Don't hit me with those negative waves so early in the thread! Why don't we say something righteous and hopeful for a change. gyro.gif

Hidden Content A ride in the woods helps me relax and release tension. The fact I'm dragging a body should be entirely irrelevant?
