    250 group buy

This is posted elsewhere but I wanna make it official. I’m trying to get 4 or more people to commit to the 250 big bore kit. Engines only discontinued the kit a while back but frank said he’d be willing to redirect the project if I can get 4 or more folks to commit. The pistons come from je at 4 minimum order. The cost is 600 per kit but there’s a lot of work involved. The pistons are custom made and the cylinders have to be re sleeved. It also comes with rings wrist pin and gaskets. Please let me know ASAP.

the kit will include the custom piston, a cylinder that is re sleeved with a 74mm bore (core required), gaskets, rings, and wrist pin. you will have to assemble the engine yourself and likely have the mouth machined a bit larger, but I,ve had that done time and time again and its never a big deal. some people do it with a dremmel. I just have a machine shop do it. You also need a donor 225/230 motor for the longer stroke crank or have a crank to add to your 200 block. This process really isnt as scary as it may sound. Im sure frank would assemble the motors for you as this is what he does, but when you figure a custom piston from je is almost 300 bucks and the sleeve is a hundred bucks, he really isnt making a whole lot of money on these jobs. Ive done all the leg work and can help answer questions as needed. I might add it has been proven to all fit.

I think you could probable use the 200 jug but being that you need all the 225 parts anyways I’ve just used the 225 jug.

If it all works with folks giving the ok probably in a couple weeks. I bought one off eBay with a scorer liner for 15 bucks. They’re cheap and available if you’re not concerned with a perfect bore.

I have two complete TW parts motors so thats why I ask on the cylinders

I need to find a few XT225 motors asap I guess

as I recall the TTR 230 is not bored for the kick starter shaft and I want a kicker so I'll look for XT motors

Do you know if a TTR225 motor will work and if they are bored for the kicker

Is your guy in Cali and the guy that had a website listing these types of TW builds a few years ago?

If so I'd pay him to bore the case and install the top end and head

As I recall he did a head job port and polish package as well
