    Health Problems Sad news

It is certainly with heavy heart that I must inform all of my friends on this forum of my situation. I have been diagnosed with Leukemia. I don't have all of my prognoses. I am going in tomorrow for an extensive series of blood panels. then meet with the doctors on April 9. Should know much after that.

Sorry to hear this Mel. For what it's worth, a coworker was diagnosed a couple of years ago and is doing very well with treatment, I hope for the same outcome for you!

Brother Mel, I hate to hear these kinds of things, especially when it is a friend. We'll be praying for you. If there is any other thing I can do to help, please don't hesitate to ask, seriously...

let me say something about that.
You do what the doctor tells you to, period, no ifs, ands or buts about it.

I had a friend (54 yo) pass away two weeks ago from that.
He had the stem cell transplants done, he was doing a hell of lot better after two weeks.
But he started doing what the doctor told him not to do, smoking, drinking, no exercise, feeling sorry for himself, etc.

He lived for another 4 months, last 2 months of them in ICU, the last 2 weeks of that time in a comma.

Another friend had been diagnosed with it also, he has been in remission for 5 years now.
He did what the doctor told him to do.

I do hope for the best for you.
Just please do what your told to do by the doctor.

It aint' over till its over, and you should stay convinced that it ain't over. There are many options better than the worst one so don't dwell on that one. We all are with you.

    Hey Mel,

I am closing in the 100 gallon mark for my platelet donations, most of which have gone to help Luekemia patients. If you can use some B+ platelets, I'm there for you!

Sue lost her sister to leukemia as a child. She could have been saved with today's technology. Seems you will have great doctors and Littletommy praying for you, and others, you will get through this. Dirts a Flyen SanDue.
