2018 in CA: What should I pay?

Anyone able to offer insight into what I should expect to pay OTD for a 2018 in CA?

I'm willing to travel anywhere in the state. Any advice/recommendations greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Usually around $5800 Cali is not a cheap place by any means

Why not buy a mint 2014 with 200 miles on it and save at least $1500

Capital Yamaha in Sacramento has a new 2018 for just under $5200 OTD.

Anyone else? Curious if others have gotten quotes, or better have purchased 2018's in CA and don't mind sharing their pricing/experience. Cheers! Love the forum .

I wouldn't pay more than $4200 plus sales tax, title and registration fee for a new current year model.

Seriously Placerlode has some nice used bikes and he is telling it straight about CA. Shag is in Pa what does he know about prices in Ca?

New if you can get $100-200 below list plus tax, DMV and no other costs you got a good deal. 4599-200=$4399+8% (352)= $4751 + DMV? Who knows what this is the gov just doubled them. A dealer knows. The mark up is so low it is hard to get lower than list. So $4751 or $4599 +368=$4967 then add DMV so $5200 OTD is realistic. I like new but bought mine used 2014 s in 2015, with 150 miles on them for $3300 with bars, rack, pipes different foot peg. I had to pay used tax and DMV transfer fees.

Good luck have some fun buying and welcome.

Some others who have actually bought a new 2018 in CA may chime in.

    just a suggestion...
placerload has been here 6+ yrs and has always been a gentleman. he has a better pulse on the price of bikes than anyone at any given moment, and no secret that he sells bikes and parts, but always at a fair price for what he has.

you can always disagree, he could have made a mistake, it might be a difference of view point, but don't just pop in from outside and impugn the character of one of the finest guys on here.

don't drop in on a new forum, with three posts, and attack a long time member who's trying to help. i'd always wager his word is good as gold, and no load of crap, if not he'd be the first to admit it.

i hope you find a bike you're happy with and enjoy the crazy fun world of t-dubbing.

Kifo if you’re buying used the trick is to beat Placerload to the used cream puffs fortunately he can’t be everywhere at once. I think that’s how I got mine. Lol.
