How long can it sit in the garage? I got an injury on my leg and I want it to heal 100% before I can start riding. So far it's been sitting for 6 days. All I did was turn the gas switch to 'OFF' and turn the engine switch to 'off' as well. What should I do in order for it not to get damaged? Should I fire it up every day for about 10 minutes and then turn it off?

if everything is in good shape you shouldn't have to do anything for at least a month.

okay thats excellent news. Yeah I got it straight from the dealership. It's a 2010 model and I got it with 256 miles on October 17. It has about 1100 now.

You could drain the carb bowl. Either by the drain on the bottom or by starting it and letting it run until it dies (with the petcock still turned off)

you don't drain all of the gas just the gas in the carb.

Is there pure fuel in it or the alcohol enhanced poo?

I keep a few cans of alcohol free fuel with stabil blue or equivalent in the garage and top the bike off with it after every ride.

you said the gas was already turned off. So you just start it and run it until it dies or there is a drain located on the carb bowl probably. As long as the gas is turned off either way will work.
