    Rhinebeck this Fri-Sat

I will be at my usual spots at Rhinebeck this year.

Please stop by and say hi and hang out.
If I am not there, Antonio will be there, and I will be right back. He doesn't know who Smitty is, so say Al.

Red area. I have a whole row of spots.

There may be a chance I can get up there if I get out of work early. Is there admission parking fees? I'll hand deliver the trivia book if I can get out.

Had planned on going to the Rhinebeck meet on Friday and camp over but my wife reminded me I had a dentist appointment on Saturday morning that I apparently made 6 months ago. GRRRRR. So jumped on my fastest bike and headed up to the Duchess County Fairgrounds around 11:30am.

Met up with a buddy "Tiaga Mike" (He owns a model Ural called a Tiaga) and a machinist buddy Armen (red Triumph Thruxton). We browed for awhile, hung out with Al/Smiity Blackstone and then rode 3-4 miles to the Rhinebeck AeroDrome in Red Hook. While we were there we...

Later on I rode another 75 miles to visit Gary L. to pick up some TW parts. Got home just before midnight. What a great day of riding, picking and seeing old friends.

Oh, what we did at the aerodrome:

Wow. Rhinebeck hasn’t changed much in the 40 years since I was there last. I kind of like that.

Nice to see you again Mike. You left my place saying you wanted to be home before dark, Ha, guess you blew that! Right after you left my driveway I had a big sow bear and 3 cubs cross the road right into my yard as I was closing the garage door. Another minute here and you would have seen them as you left.

Gary, after I left your house I stopped for a minute just to put a sweatshirt on. Got off the bike and then remembered you said "watch out for bears down the street".
I thought about it for a second and decided to get back on the bike and ride a little bit chilly for awhile. Didn't need to make new friends with anything or anyone with claws and bigger teeth than mine.

The bears would not bother you at all and were probably just over the side of the road waiting for your bike to leave before crossing. Out in the woods and surprising a sow with cubs could be a bit different but they want nothing to do with us or car/MCs.
