What is the oldest TW and rider?

My first TW is serial number 000823, California sold new in 1986.
I just tore the old girl down for the first time after nearly 6k dirt miles, one problem ever, needed new CDI.
Love the TW's so much I bought a second one 1993. Then a 2007 XT225, but don't ride that as much.

The TW200 is widely recognised as giving birth in in 1987 – therefore, if yours is indeed a 1986, it may be a prototype

Unfortunately, there would appear to be 822 prototypes before yours, so don’t expect a premium …..

source of confusion on the years, mine is registered as an 86 and has a wierd number on engine. not sure where to look for vin number, is it just a sticker on fork or is there a stamped number somewhere?

Here's an earlier thread about the TW's from the initial model year - 1987.

    https://www.tw200forum.com/forum/gene...ad-ugly-3.html

Looks like serial number 150 is the earliest one reported here. All I can say is that Yamaha must have sold a bunch of TW's that first year!

The serial number is on a sticker and stamped on the frame. If you look on the right front of frame yoke where the triple tree mounts. turn wheel to the side.
