    Sri Lanka

After nearly three weeks in Sri Lanka, and seeing thousands upon thousands of motorcycles, I finally spotted a TW in the fort city of Galle. Nice bike!

And it's a 225! Looks to be in good shape, too.

    Oh, just on vacation.
Great place to visit. Highly recommend. Beautiful scenery and great people.

    The bikes are very utilitarian.
Honda Hero, Bajaj, Suzuki, and Yamaha are the major brands of motorcycles. There are many scooters as well, combined there are over 4 million registered bikesand scooters and 1.2 million tuk-tuks. Less than 800,000 cars. Most motorcycles are 100 and 125cc. 200 is fairly big. Mostly Honda CD200s. I saw one KLR650 in Trincolamee, and every head turned as it roared down the street. It seemed so loud! All vehicles are washed and maintained fairly well as they are huge investments. 150-290% import tax for most vehicles. So the government makes more money off if the car than the manufacturer. Amazing.
