Sorry guys, i did search but couldnt find much. I finally scored a front disc rim for my 09 to have a set of dirt and street tires mounted. The rear wheel i have is from a '87. I figure its best to rebuild it as its from a parts bike thats sat for a while. Its rusty in places. My plan was to tear it all down, clean and paint the hub and rim. Try my hand at relacing the wheel with a new spoke set.

The original rim was was painted correct? I have read that painted rims dont hold up. But i thought of using the rustoleum epoxy paint to paint it black.

    What are your thoughts?

I restored a ct70 over 11 years ago and painted the rims with rattle can duplicolor that was a rim specific application and it still looks good to this day. And I'm not scared to ride my toys either, those wheels have seen pavement, sand, mud and gravel , still holdin....

Sand bast em and paint em.

If youre willing to spend the money you can have them powdercoated for about $70 a piece.
