I'm new to the TW200forum, but not to motorcycles. The TW200 craze crept up on me a few years ago and I've been looking actively to buy one (for my wife I told her...). Well I stumbled upon this on this one recently on publicsurplus.

It had an oil leak due to someone stripping the threads on on the inlet valve cover, but that was, fortunately, a quick fix. While I was at it, I also installed helicoils on the outlet side. It runs fine and I look forward to enjoying this little mule...

    I also currently own:
    1951 BMW R51/3
    2012 Honda TRX 250
    2015 BMW R1200GSW
    2017 Yamaha WR250F

Welcome. You have already amassed some brownie points by fixing it yourself.

I am one of those idiots who made a career from a hobby...I have enough machinery to drive the missus up the walls.

I know what you mean. Started riding at age 12. Then after high school worked at different cycle shops for the next 30+ years.
