Hello my name is Dubster and I am a DubAholic.

Nobody warned me these little beasts were addictive!!!

Well I came across a deal to good to pass on so I picked me up an 02 TW200 yesterday. It is bone stock in pretty good shape with 11,000 miles on it.Must have come from the US because the speedometer is in good old MPH. I never did fully embrace the metric system. The thing runs like new but needs a little TLC.

I am trying to decide just what mods I will do to this one.I need to decide whether I am going to keep it at home, where friends and family can use it on rides with me, or take it to my cottage so I can use it there.

She is definately getting a Jimbo shield, some kind of a rear rack(I will make another for the front),a better skid plate, handguards,a Shinko Goldenboy, etc, etc. If she goes to the camp I will probably install an ATV tire on the rear.

The gas tank is dented so some kind of paint or a camo wrap is in order.Anyway she is pretty much a blank canvas and I am looking forward to making it my own.

My wife shook her head and rolled her eyes when I brought it home but she got over it.I mean a guy really can't have to many toys can he??

Who knows if the rumors of the TW coming to an end are true they may become collectors items in the future and fetch insane prices like the Z-50's do???

I was going to post the rebuild of the 02 as I went along but was having problems with my computer. It would not multitask and I couldn't upload pictures from photobucket.Well I finally got my brother(an IT expert) to repair it and I am good to go again so here is what I have been up to since Feb.

I am pretty sure the bike has seen a lot of salt water so there was plenty of corrosion.I decided to completly dismantle it.

So it appears my troubles loading pictures are not over yet.I will get back to this when I figure out what the problem is......Damn computers

OK I think I have it now.

On a good note that appears to be a brand new unmolested carb.

It took me about 4 hours and a couple cold ones to get it completly apart.

    And it begins:

When I got to here I found out one of the reasons I got such a good deal.....bent frame:

I apparently didn't look it over as well as I should have when I purchased it.I was a little bummed out at first but before the night was over I had scored another good frame and a bunch of other parts for $150.00 bucks, including a dent free gas tank that would replace the dented tank that was on the bike. Problem solved good to go.

I took the frame and all the other bits including the engine to work and had them dipped, stripped and phosphated.I then painted them with bedliner. I love that stuff....it,s like textured powder coating in a can.

I broke a header bolt off in the head while trying to remove the pipe.My buddy in the machine shop said the safest way for him to remove it was to take the head off. I figured while I had it apart that far I would freshen up the top end. In went new rings, gaskets.and timing chain and we lapped the valves.

I sandblasted the engine and repainted it with high heat paint.

Now it was time to put it all back together:And she is back on her feet again:

It wasn't all work and no play.I managed to get some fishing in...one of my other favorite pastimes.

Now back to work. Fast forward:

The engine started right up and purred like a kitten. It still needs to be broken in but the few short rides I have had it on it works awesome.

All in I added ProTaper ATV high bars,a Jimbo shield,a Cycle rack,a new air filter,PowerMadd handguards, the camo wrap,an o-ring chain and gas canisters.

The seat in the pictures is off my other TW.The stocker is blue so I will have to do something about that.

I still need to make a front rack and skid plate and it needs a new front tire.

It was a lot of work but I think it turned out pretty good.

I welded a couple of brackets to the CycleRack to hold my gas canisters.

The turn signals were in the way of the gas canisters so I shortened them and relocated them to the fender on either side of the tail light. They should be safe there in a tip over.

The CycleRack sits a little crooked so ot needs a little tweaking.
