Yup. New ones in the mail, as stock ones loosing their springyness.

    Saw largest meteorite fall ever.
Made it back after 11pm & I am really in the doghouse with a justifiably worried Mrs.Fred.
    No sympathy for me tonight
Maybe tomorrow she'll want to hear about the meteorite and why I reek of gasoline.
I guess night riding adds "A LOT" more to the adventure! Now, if you extend the night ride to an "all night" night ride with the mixed in misadventurous items. Then you'll be in the exclusive "TW inadvertent overnight ride club"! Think how long Mrs. Fred would "let" you stay in the doghouse then haha.

Glad you made it back, leaking lines and all.

I was riding the Mr.Gizmo TW200 with the fabulous suspension that soaks up trail hack, rocks & bumps like every trail bike should. Good thing 'cause it was very rocky and I rode through several instances where the stock suspension would have had me crash.
However the intermittent no neutral light, no starter motor function occurred when I tipped over after stalling against a rock face. This was same issue Wandering Larry had when he borrowed Mr.Gizmo in Moab. Seems the neutral switch, side stand & clutch safety interlocks are interrelated and a simple jumper shorting out the side stand enabled ignition and starter function.
Fortunately I was with Adam who's KLX has buddy pegs so at worst case he could have hauled me 20 something miles back home.
Fuel leak was caused by an overtightened hose clamp cutting into soft flexible fuel line accidentally done as I buttoned things back up in the darkness.
Beautiful nice evening, will try to sneak out again Sunday night even if it means sleeping in dog house again.doghouse1.jpg

Well I’ve got around to starting to carry on with the tear down, and buying a few bits.
Bought a set of JIS screwdrivers.
    New twin throttle cable.
    New rear inner tube.
Ordered up a set of rear foot pegs (missing)
Stripped off the old horrible loom, carefully labelling each connector. It looks like it was partially “repaired” with bell wire, bits of house wire, and some terribly attached bullet connectors, or just wires twisted together and taped!
I’ll use it to check against the much better (but not perfect ....yet) replacement loom I sourced.
The head to carb connector looks to be in poor condition, and I’m pretty sure it may be incorrect, as it had a nasty butchered sleeve inside.
The TK carb though externally dirty, looked very clean within, but will be getting a dunk in an ultrasonic bath. Only 3 bolts holding the float bowl on! - think I’ll switch to Allen bolts.
Just need it to stop raining now.....

Installed cheap ebay handguards, a 12v/usb dual plug on the handlebar, and did my first oil change! Only 300 miles but since it's still in break in there are never too many oil changes...

Instalei novas sapatas de freio em Betty Boop e limpei o filtro de ar. Ela acaba bem agora.

That one you posted seams better than the one I got. Mine didn't come with spring washer and oring, and the threads went all the way to the knob. On mine, the skinney part where the spring goes, is longer and thinner that the stock one. I said f--k it, and put in in to see what happens. It worked. It was this one: https://cv-performance.com/ez-just-mixture-screw
