Does anyone use the 7/8 clamp on mirrors, not the bar end type, but the type you can clamp anywhere on the bar.I was thinking of mounting them so the image would be under my arms, and to clean the top of my handlebars a little.I don't use my mirrors that much,( to many blind spots for being on a bike)accually looking gives me a piece of mind.Plus in Idaho you need a mirror for road use.If I got the bar end type, could I just remove the expanding plug, then clamp the mirror on?

i would imagine those would vibrate quite a bit ( http://www.powermadd.com/products/starseriesmirror.html )...and look too small to be very useful...i have powermadd handguards with the plastic mounts and they aren't the best...they vibe a lot...even if these mirrors were mounted to regular metal hand guards with plastic shields they would still be on the plastic part and vibe...even if you mount them to the metal hand guard the mirror housing is plastic...they would cover you for having a mirror but that's about it

if you want small and less susceptible to vibrations i would go with these...at least they can be mounted to the bars and well as having rubber to dampen the vibrations...a bike i bought had one of these on it and that was the first thing i removed cause it was also too small to be very useful...

i like my cheap ebay bar end mirrors mounted to the bars cause they don't vibe, are crash resistant (only due to mounting position) and you don't have to move your arms to look behind you (but you do have to look down a little which isn't ideal)...
