2010 does not tell us much but 8,000 miles might. Condition, Condition tells us most of what we need to know. There is a vast difference between 8,000 gentle miles and a well maintained bike Vs 8,000 miles under a rough rider.

Pictures are good but a close personal inspection of all things tells the real story.

    Thanks for the replies guys!

Well GaryL, I know he threw a valve and had yahama rebuild the topend.... Im thinking that happened because of lack of care. And I know he's not much of a motorcycle guy.. He just wants to hop on and ride.
Other than that I know both sprockets need to be changed and a new chain.

There could be some other clues! If the bike has quite a bit of miles then a chain and sprockets is no big indication, parts wear. On the other hand, a bike that is beat and not maintained, chain, valves and other adjustments will eat through stuff PDQ.

you have not given any of us the necessary info to even think about a dollar number for the bike. Pictures, miles and condition. I think I would be more worried about a very new bike that did not get a gentle break in than I would be with one that has a few thousand miles and never had any real issues.

True true.. He's going on Kelly Blue Book value..
Im just trying to talk him down... what should I look for? Because he's not the 1st owner of this Tdub.

    2010 Tdub, 8,000 mi.,
it does have a slight tick..
was metal shaving in oil filter after getting it back from yamaha.
plates are expired so getting the title transfered might cost more?! pictures look like my bike but he half assed spray canned flat black the plastics.

Since you did ask and this is strictly my opinion, I would look for another TW.
