I read the reddit thread linked above, seems a lot of those posters missed the point. $50 for the plans doesn't really seem to steep, although I'm sure I don't quite have the technical wherewithal to build something like that from schematics alone.

That's pretty slick....I've seen a lotta guys throw their bike down a slope,but never pull one up! I'd like to know more about the drive mech. and powerplant......

Here's the drive system:
It would be wise to add a 4th (flange) bearing on the(inside) fork leg to fully locate the U/V shaft and not load the U/V joint with side forces that would accelerate it's wear. An alternative to chain drive could be using 'Gilmer' type belts.His design requires very few pieces with a curvature;so fixturing for welding could be as simple as wooden jigs. Well worth the $50 for the plans,I think.
