Went over to the last place to get pure non E-10 gas and surprise-surprise there was a sign that stated that that non ethylnol fuel was for off-road use only! In fact you can no longer legaly pump it into your car or street motorcycle! The owner told me the only legal way they can sell it is if you pump it into a gas can.I know the fellow and he's telling the truth as he showed me the new law that took place on the first of 2011. Is this true of other states or is this just a Florida thing?

In Illinois, you can't get non E-10 fuel. It's law.

I'd be buying a couple big gas cans and a pump.

A+ on more gas cans. The only problem is he can only get hi-test at $3.87 a gallon!! As the bikes all seem to run fine on E-10 mid-grade I'm going to have to do some thinking.

    Hi X,

I haven't heard of the new law, but that doesn't mean that it's not true.

This site still lists ethanol free stations in Florida.

I found a Sunoco station that sells the Non E-10. I take some 5 gallon cans and use it for the TW, generators, mower and the boat. Any engine that has a carb will benefit from it. Newer EFI engines seem to run ok on it. The problems in the marine industry are pretty well known. The E-10 gas attracts moisture (water ends up in the fuel) and o-rings in the carbs swell up after 5-6 years of use. Some folks claim better MPG with Non E-10 gas. The gas I buy is branded as Marathon Rec 90. Its Marathon gas, recreational use and 90 octane. Don't know about the new law as yet. The station owner says that on Sat and Sun mornings there is a line of trailer boats waiting to gas up. I wouldn't store E-10 gas for more than a month even with a stabilizer. I keep the Rec 90 treated with Sea Foam - 1 oz. per gallon of gas when being stored as in my 2 generators. Capt D.
