R22 rescues P-51 from tree top

Helicopters come in handy sometimes. . Wish these fellers were around when i lost my kite. Risky and generous thing to do, lucky kid.

The Robertson's relatively high rotor disk means not only minimal ducking required to keep from losing your head but makes for a very stabile trainer. ( I winced and ducked as ground personel approached ).
Unbelievable! What a hoot! I fly RC's and have never heard of such a thing. I once shot a 16-gauge shotgun at the tail section of my plane that was stuck in a tree to dislodge it. It obviously destroyed the frame, but I got all the electronics, motor & servos back, which is where the money is. The pilot was right...that was SICK! Where was this guy went I needed him.

That was crazy dangerous to do, but really cool!

An R22 is just like a TW except that it flies.

Any of you notice how the R22's Instructor Pilot was covering the dual control cyclic during student's takeoff? Pretty cool dual control set-up on the Robertson, clever engineering.
Here is a pic of me and a Jet Ranger at Priest Lake,ID. Pilot became my buddy after I jury rigged bent bird after forced landing in Alvrod Dessert. We came back north through eastern oregon in ground effect most of the way, nape of the earth, just feet off the deck at 105 knots.Very close to the ground the helicopter gets more lift and thus rotor disk and bird can be tipped more forward for greater thrust and speed than at altitude. Awesome. You know you are down in the weeds when you have to lift nose to clear cows and the occasional barbed wire fence.

Only thing cooler would be a R22 with a T.W. mounted on the skid! Think of the places you could get to ride just as long as you have a L.Z.

Awesome plan there Xracer. And if you got the four seater R44 you could come pick up me and my bike too.
