    Thailand in 2 days.

Hey Guys, so I have seen recently people have visited Thailand, and I know that we have a foum member or two from there as well.
I may be going for work next week, so not a huge amount of free time, for about a week, including a weekend in Bangkok which *should* allow me to roam a little.

Any advice? Any details for garages/shops I could/should visit?
My title should more realistically read: Bangkok, and maybe some surrounds in 2 days.

Thanks for any advice in advance.

Should be fun....older brother was stationed there during Vietnam and loved the place, even back then....have an Air Force Friend who now lives in Saigon, and he lived in Thailand for awhile, and another who was just there in February helping his Church Group build housing for a group in the Mountain area....be careful is all I can advise...but you should be able to have a great time.

Chatuchak Market in Bangkok - Bangkok Weekend Market
I like the Grand Palace and Floating Markets. THe The Bridge on the River Kwai(Kanchanaburi) (from World II)is near Bangkok but takes a good part of a day. Going to the beach also takes a day.
It all depends on what you like. If you just want to see motorcycle shops and things ask the motorcycle riders there.

    Great answer, thanks Arrowsmith.
I am mostly in to beaches and motorcycles, so I may be askign around about bike shops.

Also very keen to see a few of the markets and pick up some bits for the Mrs.

    Definitely All kinds!
    That looks very cool, thanks!

Also, I have just found out I will be in Singapore for a weekend too so that may yield some options!

Thailand is pretty safe compared to most places…more chance of trouble from other westerns than thais ( the only trouble I've seen on my 10yrs+ coming here is by drunk tourists not respecting Thai's or their culture) that being said, just be polite and smile and you won't have any issues.
the TW custom guys are somewhere in bangkok but i don't know where and don't think its somewhere you will find easily unless you speak thai.
the Paddocks is a place I've heard of, i think there are a few bike shops around there.

if you can't find the bikes and want to see temples etc a Tuk Tuk trip is always quickest compared to a taxi, the driver will offer a trip for 20bt to go everywhere..it will cost more…..you can ask to see what you want and spend hours with them, they will wait for you, ..2-300bt is good for ½ a days tour.

the night life and hotels are everywhere, nana plaza, patpong and soi cowboy are just 3 of the bar areas, soi 11 has lots of expats and western style bars, these are all on Sukhumvit road, khao san road is the other, lots of hotels, bars, stalls etc.
…..you will find something to do for 48 hours for sure.

the TW guys in BKK i deal with have a Facebook page called We love Tw Thailand, most of it here is hollow mod stuff.
