Very interesting story. Thank you for sharing littletommy. I would really like to explore that tunnel.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:17
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Interesting destination for a TW exploration. I would want to ride through the tunnel of course.

I'm hoping one of our members have been there already and could share with us. I know it's a big desert, but....surely someone knows of this.

Looks like it is east of Bakersfield. Here is some more info:

Also a nearby geocache: GCF441 Burro Schmidt (Traditional Cache) in California, United States created by TT&B and NCad
Curse you for getting me interested in this littletommy - it is too far away for me to visit.
Thanks LT & Old White Truck. From Google Earth it looks like a good wintertime TW destination for us who are ice-bound. Would be warm in January with lots of sunshine and a multitude of dirt roads in the hills and arroyo bottoms to explore. Not too far off of 395 either littletommy, you could jump on 395 right there in Spokane and then put her on autopilot for the next 900 miles. I'll meet you in Reno for the last 300 miles.
OWT too, but he has a bunch of options to get there. Maybe via coastal california that way he can swing by Mel's for trip-tip sandwiches for the road and driving instructions.

The mifi doesn't have enough horsepower to let me watch this, but I think it's the same tunnel. Gee, I hope there ain't no fowles languages or nekkid wimmins in it.
OWT, you found some absolutely great links and pics, more info than I ever thought would have been available. With the Geocache that you have to get to by going through to the end of the tunnel, I'm surprised that Admiral wasn't in one of the pics somewhere. I do find it interesting.
