Gunblast is a great site to visit if you want affirmation that the gun you've already decided to buy is a smart choice.

I'm not saying that Jeff Quinn isn't an expert or anything, I've just never read a negative review on his site. Maybe I just have excellent taste in guns and I've only looked at reviews of guns that he and I both agree are excellent (no), but a skeptic might argue that he has figured out a way to get a bunch of free guns in exchange for positive "professional" reviews that rank high on the Google results for prospective buyers.

I'm sure the 10/22TD NRA is an excellent piece, but I wouldn't put too much stock in Mr. Quinn's evaluation either way.

Good for him though, I wish I'd thought of it first!

Fair dues, I'd like any guns that somebody sends me for free too!

When I have to buy them myself, I'm pretty picky.

Like I said before though, any Ruger is probably money well spent.

I happen to really like the TALO distributor special model. Here is a link of the current distributor specials. You do not have to click, just hover on the red text and the picture will change. Just like the old Marlin Papoose, I prefer blued steel and wood on my field rifles. Ruger® 10/22® Distributor Exclusives Autoloading Rifle Models

For my money, the most beautiful take down .22 remains the Browning SA .22. Beautiful lines. Just plain sexy. Put it in a Boyt Harness take down case, and you have an heirloom.
Twelve rules will get you through life with style.
