Poplar. Forty years of care is paying off handsomely.

I am partial to the ancient bristlecone pines one finds at higher elevations in the intermountain west because of their stately elegance and multi thousand year tenacity with but a hint of visible life. They tend to be found where little else grows.

Sequoia redwoods are so very impressive for their size.RedwoodDriveThruTree48k.jpg But the tranquility and silence of the coastal redwoods groves makes for a magical experience.

I think it is hard to beat the majesty of a beautiful old growth White Oak when it is by itself out on a pretty golf course and in full early summer bloom. This tree's wood is probably in every one of our homes in the form of furniture, usually quarter sawn or tiger oak pattern for it durability and stability. I have it in every room in my home.

Be Decisive! Right or Wrong just make a decision. The road of life is paved with flat squirrels that couldn't make a decision.

Since light travels faster than sound, some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

I do not have a picture of my favorite tree but I could get one tomorrow. My favorite tree is the angel tree that is assembled at the local shopping mall every year. This tree has small angels all over it and you are free to take as many angels as you are willing to help out. For those of you who don't already know, each angel has children's names from a needy family printed inside it. With the names, are a list of things that each child needs and normally one thing that they would like to have.

I have been very fortunate to be in a position to sponsor families for awhile now. Not only is it good for the soul but it has been a wonderful teaching aid for my children. There is nothing more rewarding than having each of your children announce that they have enough "stuff" and would like to give up their Christmas presents in order to get these less fortunate children more of what they "need". Yup, angel tree is my favorite.
