    Would those have been carried in a scabbard or some form of sheath, or simply tucked under a sash or belt?

    in a scabbard but was long lost. This is in very good shape and the wood handle is also excellent conditions and I also have a pair of never worn ww1 army boots English leather with straps but my son wants them.
