But on the other hand, Klim makes really good gear.

Personally I wear leather. Because every good farmboy knows that cows skid real good.

Leather is too hot for most of the South in the summer. Leather is also an awesome windbreak when it is cool.

Most every jacket or pants I bought with a liner, I ended up throwing the liner away due to it affecting fit, and therefore crashworthiness. No textile, full mesh gear year around. Cool in the summer, warm in the winter with appropriate wicking, insulating, and windblock layers, and I'm talking 12-hour days on the open highway on a naked bike and maybe getting up to thawing for a high. No $1500 jackets for me.

I wear a vanson ace jacket when it ain't too hot. When it's hot I have a perforated leather jacket I use. When it's hotter than that, I wear a JC Penny plain pocket and ride extra special good.

Surprising as it might be, I occasionally wear a helmet myself. I actually have a full face helmet. Don't often wear it, but I own one.
