Yes it does, some amazing people out there.
Where in Southeast are you if you care to share? I grew up in Southeast, lived in most of the communities. Graduated from high school in Juneau.

I'm in Wrangell. Where in the Yukon are you?
Those Harrier's are amazing how they hover. Mad skills right there.
Whitehorse. I lived in Wrangell for a bit as a kid and later worked there for Green Construction building the airport and paving most of the local roads around 1968-69. Did a nice trip to Anan creek about 8 years ago.
I guess you know Angermans, Ottesens, Campbells, etc. I have been here since 1983, first came to visit in 1980 when I was living in Sitka. Funny you mention Anan; I go there in the summer as a guide to the bear observatory (one of my retirement jobs).
Oops now Im getting off topic on my own off topic....off topic squared.

What's amazing is the carrier is likely to be making 25 or 30 knots into a 25 or 30 knot wind so the aircraft that looks like it is hovering is actually flying with an air speed of 50-60 knots. A Harrier at the Alliance Air Show a few years ago hovered and landed with a crosswind of 40-45 knots off the port wing tip. That was amazing, or so everyone thought, until 4 AH-1s flew sideways circles around the Harrier. Leatherneck pilots are a crazy bunch.
He not only saved his own life he saved tax payers about $30,000,000 OMM.
